More than 8 years in the planning, work on Blackheath & Bromley Harriers’ new Community Sports and Recreation Centre at Norman Park, Bromley will finally begin today, 11th October.

With London Borough of Bromley having encouraged the Club to take over responsibility for operation and maintenance of the Norman Park track and granted them a 125 year lease, Buxton Building Contractors, the successful tenderers, will undertake the necessary construction works, which are scheduled to be completed at the end of September, 2022.

The new project will secure the future of the track at Norman Park, one of the best-used facilities in the country, as well as providing a range of improved facilities for members of both the Club and the local Community. The majority of funding for the project is being provided by the Club and its members from: the proceeds of the sale of its existing clubhouse in Hayes; bequests; reserves; donations and fundraising activities. Significant contributions are also to be provided by Sport England and Bromley Council.

An architect’s impression shows the exciting new building and we look forward to following it’s progress over the coming months. Regular updates will be provided.
